Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before we work together.

Whether you're looking for executive advisory, career guidance, a keynote speaker, or support transforming your event organization, these are the questions I'm asked most often. Don't see yours? We can cover it on a discovery call.

The Questions

Advisory, speaking, and everything between.

A running list — updated as new questions come in from clients and conference organizers.

01Who do you work with?

I work with both individuals and organizations.

For individuals, that may mean helping an event professional prepare for a leadership role, supporting a field marketer building a regional strategy, or serving as an ongoing executive mentor.

For organizations, I partner with leadership teams looking to strengthen event strategy, transform event organizations, build flagship conferences, evaluate event portfolios, improve field marketing programs, or modernize how experiences support business growth.

02Is this coaching or consulting?

Neither — and a little of both. I consider my work executive advisory.

I don't believe in generic advice or one-size-fits-all recommendations. Every engagement is based on your goals, your organization, your challenges, and the decisions you're facing.

My role is to help you think strategically, avoid costly mistakes, and move forward with confidence.

03I've never hired an advisor before. What should I expect?

Every engagement starts with a conversation. We'll discuss what you're trying to accomplish, what's getting in your way, and where you need support.

If we're a good fit, I'll recommend the engagement that best aligns with your goals. Some clients only need one strategy session. Others choose ongoing advisory or executive mentorship.

04Do you work virtually?

Yes. Most advisory sessions are held virtually, allowing me to work with professionals and organizations around the world.

For workshops, leadership sessions, and larger consulting engagements, I'm also available to travel.

05Do you travel for clients?

Absolutely. Travel has been a significant part of both my career and my personal life.

Whether it's facilitating a leadership workshop, speaking at a conference, supporting a flagship event, or joining executive planning sessions, I'm happy to travel when it creates the best experience for your team.

06Can you help us decide where to host our event?

Yes — and it's one of my favorite types of projects.

Destination strategy goes far beyond comparing hotel rates. Together we'll evaluate accessibility, attendee experience, executive appeal, venue options, budget, seasonality, long-term growth, and how a destination supports your business objectives.

07Can you recommend agencies, venues, or technology?

Yes. Because I've spent nearly two decades selecting agencies, negotiating with vendors, evaluating event technology, and managing global event programs, I can help you assess options, review proposals, ask the right questions, and make informed decisions.

Rather than recommending the same solution to everyone, I help you find the partner that's right for your specific goals.

08What's included in a Career Strategy Session?

Your 90-minute session is completely tailored to you. We might review your career path, discuss a leadership challenge, prepare for a difficult executive conversation, evaluate your event strategy, or talk through an important decision.

After our session, you'll receive a personalized action plan with recommendations and next steps.

09How do I know which advisory option is right for me?

That's exactly what the discovery call is for. We'll discuss your goals, timeline, and challenges, and together we'll determine whether a one-time strategy session, an advisory package, executive mentorship, or organizational engagement is the best fit.

10Do you offer custom engagements?

Yes. Not every organization fits neatly into a package.

If you're looking for something more tailored — such as executive workshops, leadership retreats, strategic planning, conference advisory, destination consulting, or ongoing executive support — I'd be happy to create a custom engagement.

11What makes your approach different?

I've spent 18 years leading the kinds of initiatives my clients are working on today. I've built global conferences, led field marketing organizations, managed multimillion-dollar budgets, selected destinations around the world, worked with agencies and executive leadership, and navigated organizational change.

I'm not teaching from theory. I'm sharing practical insight from experience.

Every engagement is grounded in the S.A.S. Framework — Strategy. Alignment. Scale. It's a simple approach that helps leaders make better decisions before execution begins.

12What industries do you work with?

While much of my experience comes from the technology industry, the principles behind strategic events, leadership, customer experiences, and business growth apply across many industries.

If your organization is focused on creating meaningful experiences and strengthening relationships, there's a good chance I can help.

13What's the first step?

It all starts with a conversation. Book a discovery call, tell me about what you're working on, and we'll explore whether we're the right fit.

Whether we work together or not, my goal is for you to leave with greater clarity than when we started.
